Prayer

We believe that prayer changes things. Here are some helpful tips to get you started.

Forget the flowery language. Honestly share your feelings with Jesus. It’s OK to tell God that you are angry or that you are hurting.

Tell Jesus how you feel about Him. Prayer is an expression of love and gratitude for who God is.

Pray continually. This doesn’t mean that you have to always be on your knees with your head bowed and your eyes closed. It means that you should always be aware of Christ’s presence. It’s also a reminder that you can chat with Jesus anywhere. He’s always there.

A.C.T.S.
You can use the A.C.T.S. model to help you make your prayer time more meaningful.

A – Adoration
Spend a moment or two simply praising God. A sentence or two telling God that you love Him and why you love Him can really set the tone.

C – Confession
This is exactly what it says...a time to come clean with God and be honest with yourself regarding your shortcomings.

T – Thanksgiving
Spend time thanking God for being God and for blessing you so richly.

S – Supplication
Supplication means to make an appeal to someone in authority. This is where we make our requests to God...for ourselves and others.
