Statement of Faith
We believe in one God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
(Matthew 28:19; Luke 3:21-22; John 1:1, 4:24, 14:9, 14:16-20
We believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth.
(Genesis 1:1; Matthew 5:16; Acts 17:24-28; Colossians 1:16-17; Hebrews 11:3)
We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, our one and only Savior
(John 1:14; John 3:16; II Peter 3:18; I John 4:9)
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary being both fully human
and fully divine
(Matthew 1:18; Luke 1:26-38; John 1:14; Colossians 1:19, 2:9; I John 1:1-3)
Who suffered under Pontius Pilate and was crucified
(Luke 23:1-46)
Who died and was buried
(Luke 23:44-56; John 19:31-42)
Who on the third day rose again
(Luke 24:1-8; John 20:1-31; I Corinthians 15:3-8)
Who ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father
(Luke 22:69, 24:50-53; Acts 1:1-9; Colossians 3:1)
Who will come again to judge the living and the dead.
(Matthew 24:36-42; John 14:1-3; Acts 1:10-11; 10:39-42; I Peter 4:5)
We believe in the Holy Spirit.
(John 16:5-15; Acts 1:7-8; Romans 8:26-27)
Who indwells every Christian.
(I Corinthians 3:16, 6:19; II Timothy 1:14)
We believe in the Bible as God’s Holy Word, Scripture. We believe God inspired the autographs (original writings) of the Scripture and those autographs were consequently without error.
(Mark 12:36; John 14:26; Acts 1:16; II Timothy 3:14-16; II Peter 1:20-21)
We believe that man was created by God in his image, but willfully sinned against God and is consequently lost and without hope apart from Jesus Christ.
(Acts 4:12; Romans 3:23)
We believe in the forgiveness of sins by grace through the blood Jesus Christ.
(Matthew 26:28; Romans 5:9; Ephesians 2:8-9; I Peter 1:18-19; I John 1:7)
We believe one receives God’s grace by putting faith in Christ, repenting of sin, confessing Christ as Lord, and being immersed into Christ by baptism, but that none of these is sufficient in and of itself for the assurance of salvation.
(Romans 5:1-2 / Luke 24:45-47; Acts 3:19, 17:30; II Peter 3:9 / Matthew 10:32; Romans 10:9;
Philippians 2:11; I John 4:15 / Acts 2:38; Romans 6:1-7; Galatians 3:27; Colossians 2:12; I Peter 3:21)
We believe in the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting.
(I Corinthians 15:20-23; John 5:28-29; Revelation 20:11-15, 21:1-4)
We believe in the church founded by Jesus Christ and consisting of all Christians everywhere.
(Matthew 16:13-18; Acts 2:14-47)
We believe that the Bible teaches that the Elders are to exercise authority over the local congregation.
(Acts 20:28; I Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9; I Peter 5:1-4) |
