Whitewater Crossing Christian Church Children's Ministry exists to...

GUIDE children on an amazing journey to know God’s love.
GROW children to a personal relationship with God through Jesus.
GIVE their families the tools and encouragement to lead the journey.

Core Values
Child-Centered.  We are uncompromisingly devoted to being child-centered.  We will do what we need to reach this generation for Christ by immersing ourselves in the culture where children exist.  We value reaching children by planning and engaging them in age-appropriate activities that will guide and grow them to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Relevant.  We believe that the relevancy of Biblical truths is crucial in every child's life in order for them to develop a relationship with Jesus and grow into a fully devoted follower.  By teaching the Bible creatively, we give children a foundation of Biblical knowledge, which will lead them to an understanding of God's word and the ability to apply His truths and principles to their own behaviors, choices, and life.

Intentional.  We strive to be intentional in all aspects of planning, implementation, and execution of SPOUT Children's Ministries.  All teaching, outreach, service, worship and fellowship are done with a specific strategy in order to affect children's lives for Christ.

Safe.  We commit to making our ministry a safe place for every child.  Continuous efforts will be made so that each child will feel secure physically, emotionally, and spiritually.  By meeting safety needs, we provide children and their families a nurturing environment so that learning, growth, and development can occur.  We value the security and comfort of each child and endeavor to go above and beyond to make each student feel welcomed, respected, loved, and assured that their best interests are one of our top priorities.

Fun. We desire that each child will experience that learning about God can be FUN!  While never wavering from Biblical truth, we pledge to make all facets of our Children's Ministry fun, exciting, challenging, and rewarding so that children will have a desire to return again and again.  Through repeated contact and meaningful connections with children and their families, we will accomplish our mission.

On the Horizon

Vacation Bible School, "SKY: Everything is Possible with God" -  June 25-29, 2012, 6:30-9:00pm

Security
Security.  All children are registered electronically into Harbortown at Kiosk Check-In Centers.  Each child or family will be assigned a security number with drop off and pick up location information at registration.  A child’s security numbers will be matched to an adult for dismissal. No worries - first timers will be guided through the check-in and dismissal process at the White Desk in the Atrium.
Allergies. Food and environmental allergies are noted through the registration process. Pretzels and gold fish crackers are the standard snack. If another snack is served, parents can find the snack content information posted at the classroom door.  If your child has an allergy severe enough to require an Epi-pen, please let us know.  Our Nursery Classrooms are Peanut Free Zones.
Illness.  Help us stay healthy by not bringing your child to Harbortown if they have experienced a fever, diarrhea, or vomiting within twenty-four hours. Spread the love and not the germs by letting us know if your child has recently had a communicable disease.
Promotions. Children turning 2-5 years of age are promoted to their new classroom on the first weekend of their birthday month. Feel free to peek at the new classroom to help your child prepare for the promotion. Kindergarten and Elementary promotions occur once a year.

Emergency. Beepers are available for parents who anticipate the need to be contacted during a service.
If your security number appears on the Worship Center screen return as soon as possible to your child’s classroom for specific information. In the event of church-wide emergency, locations and directions will be announced as to where your children have been safely relocated.

Separation Anxiety. We know it’s hard sometimes!  Arrive early to help ease anxieties associated with separation.  Playtime and routines are great ways for preschoolers to transition into class.  Arriving early gives them the opportunity to join in the fun learning stations we offer.  We are ready to offer encouragement, love, patience and reassurance to your preschooler and you! Let us know how we can help.

Potty training? Sometimes, accidents happen.  Please bring your child in clothes that are easy to remove and bring an extra set of clothes “just in case”.  Be sure to let the classroom volunteers know that potty training is in progress.  Special stickers found at the Kiosk Check-In Centers are available to put on with the name tag to help us remember.
